John Trey Hains — Founder & Chief Executive Officer
John Trey Hains founded Prairie Cove Ag, originally Prairie Cove Consulting, to help farmers create more value from their operations through practical, financially sound solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from McNeese State University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Louisiana. His experience with Supreme Rice Mill provided firsthand insight into agricultural supply chains, producer economics, sustainability programs, and long-term grower relationships. As CEO, Trey leads Prairie Cove Ag’s strategy, financial management, pricing, partnerships, customer relationships, regulatory planning, and growth initiatives. His focus is turning promising agricultural ideas into disciplined, commercially viable solutions.
Blake Smith — Vice President
Blake Smith serves as Vice President of Prairie Cove Ag, supporting company operations and leading the sourcing and logistics strategy for invasive apple snails used in Snail Powder. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business from McNeese State University and an MBA from Louisiana State University Shreveport. Through his work with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Blake gained practical experience with conservation programs, compliance requirements, and farm-level data collection. He coordinates grower and partner relationships, procurement, inbound logistics, traceability, process development, and operational planning. His combined agricultural and regulatory experience helps Prairie Cove Ag build practical systems that can scale responsibly.
